Oktoberfest 2011 in Bucks County
The owners, the chef and the world-famous mascots at the Indian Rock Inn are all German, so it is only natural that they celebrate Oktoberfest every year. Tom and Beverly Schweder are the owners, Val Roy Gerischer is the head chef, and Itchy and Ruby are the proud German Daschund mascots than run the business.
This year the celebration starts on Friday, October the 21st and runs through Sunday, October the 30th. Our Oktoberfest menu includes classic German cuisine and two special beers:
Featured Oktoberfest Entrées:
Sauerbraten with Potato Pancakes
Jaeger Schnitzel with Mashed Potatoes
Pork and Sauerkraut with little Red Potatoes
Every entrée served with Red Cabbage and German style Green Beans
Featured Oktoberfest Beers:
Sam Adams Oktoberfest
Dundee Oktoberfest
We will be serving our regular fine dining menus with steaks, seafood, hearty homemade soups, salads and chicken and our casual dining menu in the bar which features hot wings, cheeseburgers and delicious hand-cut homemade fries. And don’t forget, chef Val is a great baker. He makes great cakes, pies and creme brules.
The photograph at the top was taken by Chef Val at Trauger’s Farm Market. Trauger’s is just a few miles north of the Inn in Kintnersville. It is the source of many of the vegetables that we use in our dishes and always a great place to visit and take photographs. Find out more about the farm and their pick your own pumpkins and their Oktoberfest festivities @ http://www.traugers.com/default.html.
